Anderson Says He Will Back Stepson
A newspaper report concerning my retirement from Congress erroneously indicated that I had yet to decide who I would support to succeed me in the new 38th Congressional District.
Let me set the record straight. If (Long Beach) Councilman Evan Anderson Braude decides to make the race for Congress, I will most assuredly support and campaign wholeheartedly for him.
Evan has worked hard as a Long Beach city councilman to improve the quality of life for everyone in our community. My stepson is a tough, fair-minded, independent thinker who has leadership qualities it will take to make our nation strong in the difficult decade ahead.
As a father, I have watched Evan grow and mature. As a congressman, I’m proud to see him come of age as a leader in his own right.
