N.Y. Daily News Can Operate Through February: The beleaguered tabloid has enough cash to operate until then without the help of a buyer, the paper’s editor told creditors. “The paper will make it well beyond the next six weeks . . . our cash position is good through February,” James Willse told reporters following management’s first meeting with creditors. The 72-year-old paper filed for bankruptcy protection from creditors Dec. 5.
