NORTH COUNTY : College to Offer Course for Teachers

The North Orange County Community College District will begin a series of evening classes this month to prepare teachers to take the California Basic Educational Skills Test.

Three sections of the class will be taught, all on Wednesdays, in Yorba Linda, Cypress and Fullerton. The fee for the three-week class is $135. The test is required for those seeking a teaching credential for the first time or for teachers who have not taught for the past 39 months.

The first section of the class begins Jan. 15 from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. and continues for the following two Wednesdays in Yorba Linda. Classes will meet at the Yorba Linda Education Center at 4175 Fairmont Blvd.

The second session will be offered from 6 to 10 p.m. on three consecutive Wednesdays beginning Feb. 19 at Cypress College. The third session will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. beginning March 11 at Rosary High School in Fullerton.
