MISSES THE ORANGE: Cop writer Joseph Wambaugh, whose new novel, “Fugitive Nights,” is reviewed in Book Review today, has had trouble selling his Linda Isle house. The home has been on the market nearly two years. . . . Wambaugh, who lives now in Rancho Sante Fe and whose new book is set in Palm Springs, says fondly, “I miss the Balboa Bay Club and all the Hot Mommas I wrote about (in ‘Golden Orange’). They might be Lukewarm Mommas by now.” . . . Wambaugh’s old home is selling for $2.5 million, “but,” he adds, “you get to be neighbors of Don Bren. He’s only a few houses away.”
