Strike Up the Band: A no-strike agreement through the run of the San Diego Opera’s “Der Rosenkavalier” has been reached by opera management and the Musicians Assn. of San Diego, Local 325 of the American Federation of Musicians. Heated discussions had threatened the Jan. 18 season opener earlier this week when the musicians and opera management faced an impasse on a contract they have been negotiating since November. Although there is no final contract, both sides expressed optimism that an agreement will come soon.
