Deukmejian’s New Role

Share

In response to “Deukmejian Thrives in Private Life, Law Work,” Jan. 3:

To Dan Kelley’s remark: “They (business executives) have a lot of respect for him. They know he has a pro-business outlook.” I wonder which business executives he’s talking about. After reading one out of every four businesses in California are moving elsewhere because government has been so unresponsive to their needs, and knowing Deukmejian had been governor for the last eight years, what are they talking about, who are they kidding? Have they been living in the Land of Oz?

This state has had no business leadership in the last eight years--if you don’t believe me take a look at Utah, Nevada and Texas’ governors. But then again we do have the death penalty, which is what Republicans seem to campaign on all the time.
