Federated, Allied Reorganization Plan Affirmed: Bankruptcy Judge Vincent Aug approved a reorganization plan for the nation’s largest retailing group, Federated Department Stores Inc. and Allied Stores Corp., allowing it to emerge from bankruptcy protection Feb. 4. Separately, the two retailers--owned by Canada’s Campeau Corp.--settled a $38-million lawsuit with rival Neiman Marcus Group Inc. over the hiring of a top executive. Federated and Allied own 10 department store chains including Bloomingdale’s, Lazarus, Abraham & Strauss, Burdines, Stern’s and The Bon Marche. He also signed the reorganization plan of Federated and Allied’s parent company, Federated Stores Inc.
