Along with such predictable products as non-toxic paints, the split-level Pasadena store carries recycled latex pencil erasers from Germany, refillable twig pens and pencils, two lines of holistic cosmetics, tin watering cans, circuit boards-turned-clipboards, unbleached cotton towels and robes, and furniture made from reclaimed timber. Its computer paper is recycled from 100% used stock. And, for the kids, there’s a line of cotton chenille-covered animals, though owner Shari Eubanks admits the critters’ stuffing is, ahem, frowned-upon polyfill. Some planet-friendly substitutes are still tough to find, she says.
