ABT Announces ‘Peter and the Wolf’ Cast
American Ballet Theatre has announced casting for its performances at the Wiltern Theatre, Jan. 30 to Feb. 2, the company’s first L.A. engagement since 1989.
The program is identical for all five performances: the Los Angeles premiere of Michael Smuin’s “Peter and the Wolf” (music by Prokofiev), the world premiere of company member John Selya’s “Moon Dance” (music by Moondog) and Jiri Kylian’s 1978 “Sinfonietta” (music by Janacek).
“Moon Dance” and “Sinfonietta” are ensemble ballets, without leading roles. Casting for “Peter and the Wolf” follows:
* Jan. 30: Gil Boggs, Cheryl Yeager, Kathleen Moore, Christina Fagundes, Victor Barbee, Ethan Brown. At 8 p.m.
* Jan. 31: Boggs, Claudia Alfieri, Sandra Brown, Fagundes, Charles Askegard, Robert Conn. At 8 p.m.
* Feb. 1: Robert Wallace, Amanda McKerrow, S. Brown, Veronica Lynn, Askegard, Conn. At 2 p.m.
* Feb. 1: Wes Chapmen, Yeager, Moore, Fagundes, Barbee, E. Brown. At 8 p.m.
* Feb. 2: Danilo Radojevic, Alfieri, Moore, Marie-France, Askegard, Conn. At 2 p.m.
As previously announced, Carol Burnett will be the onstage narrator in the Jan. 30 and 31 performances of “Peter and the Wolf.”
