H. Meade Alcorn Jr., 84, who was Republican National Chairman from 1957 to 1959 during the Eisenhower Administration. In the 1930s and 1940s, Alcorn held public offices as Connecticut state representative and as Hartford’s prosecutor. He was a partner in a New Haven law firm and had been president of the Connecticut State Bar Assn. On Monday in Hartford.
