IRVINE : Cerebral Palsy Assn. Given $10,000 Grant

The Irvine Health Foundation has awarded $10,000 to the United Cerebral Palsy Assn. of Orange County to help pay for renovations at the association’s Regional Infant Center building in Santa Ana.

The 7-year-old health foundation regularly raises and donates money for health-related programs supporting Irvine-area residents. Its grant will help repay the costs of moving a two-story Colonial-style house in 1988 to the association’s headquarters and renovating it, said Joanne Miner, the association’s executive director.

The house is used as an infant-care facility for children with cerebral palsy and similar disabilities suffered by about 3,000 children in Orange County.

“Irvine Health Foundation is one of the few organizations that will help pay for renovations once they are already completed,” Miner said. “Ten thousand dollars these days is significant. We’re glad to have it.”
