SEAL BEACH : New TV Show Shot in City Airs Today

Share

CBS will premiere a new television series tonight at 9 that was shot on location in Seal Beach.

The series, “Tequila and Bonetti,” which was created by Donald Bellisario of “Magnum P.I.” and “Quantum Leap” fame, filmed its scenes at the Seal Beach park and pier area.

In a related move, the Seal Beach City Council this week adopted an ordinance setting fees and rules that will replace the old fee schedule for commercial photography and filming activities within the city.

Fees range from $100 per day for a commercial still photography location fee to a $400-per-day location fee for motion pictures. In addition to that, there is a $200-per-day fee to film the lifeguard station or City Hall and a $250-per-day charge for the pier or park area.

The city has already billed Universal Studios more than $50,000 under the city’s old fee schedule for location and other services in conjunction with the “Tequila and Bonetti” filming.

City Manager Jerry L. Bankston said the filming location fee is higher than that charged by most Orange County cities but is comparable to those charged by other beach cities.
