Spray the Flies Away

Share

I’ve been reading numerous articles lately regarding the difficulty of eradicating the white fly. Agriculturalists are trying every concoction they can think of, but I have not read of one instance of trying an old method or remedy to stop insects.

When we wanted to kill an ordinary housefly, we used to use hair spray.

Yes! Hair spray. One spritz from a can of Final Net would render the fly helpless. It wouldn’t kill him, but he wouldn’t be able to move either, which eventually would lead to his exit from this world.

I don’t mean to have giant cans of Final Net dumped over the fields of California, but something with similar properties might work.

I understand the white fly lives beneath leaves. Maybe a low-flying helicopter stirring up the leaves and a second one flying behind it with hair spray might render these white flies incapable of moving.

I know this sounds a little simplistic. I make no claims to be any type of chemist, but sometimes the simplest of remedies are overlooked.
