How a Former Player Looks at the Angels

Share

As a former major league baseball player, I can tell you there are insights into the game that the average fan never sees nor appreciates. Granted, it appears the Angels are holding the short end of the stick after the recent defections and free agents who opted to play elsewhere. Yet, the current Angel management team (Whitey Herzog, Buck Rodgers), based on their past successes, deserves the time needed for their philosophies to work.

The very least Angel fans can do is to give them a chance to reverse the many years it took the organization to get into its current position, for which none of these men are to blame. If Rome wasn’t built in a day, how can anyone expect more from the Angels?
