Deposed Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide met with Organization of American States officials in Washington and said he is determined to regain his office and remove the general who ousted him Sept. 30. But Aristide’s prospects for an early return dimmed when other Haitian political leaders failed to appear at the meeting.
