SEAL BEACH : Council, Planning Commission to Meet

Share

The City Council has scheduled a meeting with the Planning Commission to discuss what to do about residential buildings that don’t meet city codes.

The meeting, set for Feb. 19 at 7 p.m., will allow the two bodies to shape city policy.

In December, the Planning Commission considered amendments to the city code regarding additions and remodeling of residential buildings that don’t currently meet legal requirements. Rather than take action on the matter, planning commissioners suggested the joint meeting.

Unless city officials decide otherwise, buildings that do not meet codes instituted after they were built cannot expand.
