* The Rotary Club of Tarzana will host Rotary International President Rajendra K. Saboo at a dinner in his honor at the Burbank Airport Hilton Hotel on Tuesday. Saboo and the club’s board of directors represent 1.2 million Rotarians in 174 countries worldwide. The Tarzana branch is one of more than 250 Rotary Clubs in Southern California, working on community problems such as functional literacy. The international service club is holding its legislative meeting, which convenes once every three years, in Southern California this month.

* The Glendale Community Foundation has received a $2,000 grant from Glendale Federal Bank for its administrative endowment fund. The 36-year-old nonprofit foundation established the fund in 1990 to help make the group’s administrative operations more self-supporting. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded nearly $750,000 for capital improvements to more than 90 nonprofit groups in Glendale, Montrose, La Crescenta and nearby communities. Its beneficiaries have included the Sierra Madre Girl Scout Council in Glendale, which received a $1,000 grant for two cardiopulmonary resuscitation training mannequins, and the High Tech Center for the Disabled at Glendale College, which received about $3,524 for computer equipment for disabled students.
