Dole Food Co. reported record fourth-quarter and full-year earnings, which reflected higher earnings from packaged foods and improved operating results at the company’s citrus operations.

Net income for the final three months of 1991 totaled $29.1 million, or 48 cents per share, compared to $19.4 million, or 33 cents per share, for the same quarter of 1990, an increase of 45%.

Revenue surged to $699.8 million for the most recent quarter from $673.8 million in the prior year.

The Westlake Village company posted annual net income of $133.7 million for fiscal 1991, up from $120.5 million the prior year.

Earnings per common share were $2.24, an increase of 10.3%, compared to the $2.03 per share reported for 1990.

Full-year revenue was $3.2 billion, up $200 million from the year before.
