THOUSAND OAKS : Jungleland Survey Contract Awarded

Share

Thousand Oaks officials have decided to award a surveying contract for the city’s Jungleland civic arts plaza to a Santa Monica firm.

The contract was given to Psomas & Associates, Councilman Alex Fiore said.

Earlier this week, a consultant had recommended that Psomas be granted the contract, but council members delayed their decision Tuesday after two competing firms from Thousand Oaks complained about the city’s selection.

Fiore said he and Mayor Robert E. Lewis reviewed the bids again Thursday and determined that Psomas was the best qualified out of three firms that submitted bids.

The contract is for an amount not to exceed $35,000.

Surveying began Friday on the city’s $63.8-million project to build a new city hall and performing arts auditorium.
