French Priest Is Charged With Terrorism

PARIS —
A French priest was among 10 suspected Basque separatists charged with terrorist offenses Friday after raids in southwestern France, police said.
Francois Garat, a Roman Catholic priest at Espelette near the Spanish border, is suspected of sheltering members of the outlawed Basque separatist organization ETA.
The 10--three Spaniards and seven Frenchmen--have been charged with criminal association with a terrorist organization.
