SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

Spurred on by a coach who stomped up and down the sideline throughout the game, shouting himself hoarse, Savanna gave Brea-Olinda its first Orange League boys’ basketball loss of the season, 46-41, Friday night at Savanna High.

Savanna and Brea are tied for first in league play at 3-1. Savanna is 14-6 overall, Brea 8-11.

“If you get up on Brea, you can have some success,” Greg Haskell said with a rasp after the Rebels beat the league’s No. 1 team. “Savanna kids don’t give in.”
