Condor Lays Egg at Zoo
The first California condor egg of the year was laid Sunday at the Los Angeles Zoo.
Of the 52 endangered condors in existence, half are at the Los Angeles Zoo, and two of those, Cachuma and Cuyama, produced the egg. The same pair has already produced two female and three male condors.
Two condors were released earlier this month, part of the captive breeding program designed to reintroduce the birds into the wild.
