PerfectData Profit Dips Despite 30% Sales Increase

PerfectData Corp. said its fiscal third-quarter profit slipped 3% from a year earlier despite a 30% increase in sales.

The Simi Valley maker of computer maintenance products said net income in the quarter that ended Dec. 31 fell to $171,000 from $177,000 a year earlier, while its sales climbed to $1.93 million from $1.49 million.

For the first nine months of its fiscal year, PerfectData’s profit edged up 2%, to $463,000 from $454,000 a year earlier, and its nine-month sales rose 30%, to $5.60 million from $4.32 million.
