THOUSAND OAKS : Hearing on Changes in Planning Delayed

Share

A hearing on the Thousand Oaks Area Plan scheduled for today at the Ventura County Board of Supervisors Hearing Room has been postponed until March 24, county officials said Monday.

“My office has received nearly 400 letters from residents about this issue and I want to address each and every concern before I make a decision,” said Supervisor Maria VanderKolk, whose district covers Thousand Oaks.

The Thousand Oaks Area Plan, if approved, would encourage the imposition of Thousand Oaks planning standards on unincorporated areas such as Newbury Park that are within the city’s sphere of influence but not within city limits.

Some Newbury Park residents are concerned that the plan would lead to forced annexation by the city of Thousand Oaks and would require Newbury Park residents to conform to the city’s allowed paint color and architectural standards, VanderKolk said.
