THE LAST WORD: Ted Nugent, rock’s most outspoken carnivore and big game hunter, is taking aim at his celebrity vegetarian/animal rights counterparts. His just-published book, “Blood Trails: The Truth About Bowhunting,” includes “120 detailed kill stories” (many made with his custom line of Nugent-Oneida Whackmaster bows), and recipes for the likes of venison stroganoff and wild boar chops. But the Motorcity Madman--whose band Damn Yankees is rehearsing for a new album--saves his sharpest arrows for those who would decry his meat habit. Here’s a taste:

“Fools like Paul and Linda McCartney, k.d. lang and the Go-Go’s should stick to their drugged-out shallowness and leave important decisions to people willing to seek out and act upon the truth. It is criminally inclined, left-wing hippies like them and Rolling Stone magazine that preach clever insults to clear-thinking folks, such as ‘ban fur, legalize dope,’ that expose them as the (expletives) they really are. They must be ignored and left to blabber their insults into the night. Like Hare Krishnas, confined to their little cages at the airport, we can tolerate their expressions of opinions, but never let obvious wrong get its foot in the door.”
