The article on the Copper Queen Hotel in Bisbee, Ariz., was very appealing and nostalgic to me. As a child, I spent many summers in Bisbee, one of the greatest copper camps in the world and also one of the most picturesque towns in the Southwest. Coming from an area in West Cork, Ireland, where there were copper mines, my two aunts and my father went first to Butte, Mont., and then to Bisbee, where my aunts Maggie and Mary would run a boardinghouse for miners. The social center of the community was the Copper Queen Hotel, built by the Copper Queen Consolidated Mining Co. 90 years ago. I viewed it with wonder. Restored now to its Victorian beauty, it is awaiting visitors as it rests in Tombstone Canyon at the foot of the Mule Mountains.
