Clinton’s Candidacy

Share

On Jan. 25 a small article appeared in The Times regarding the execution of a murderer in Arkansas. Presidential candidate Gov. Bill Clinton refused to grant clemency to this man.

It was reported in this article that some political observers believed this could help Clinton in his campaign by showing the American public he is tough on crime. In fact, one pollster stated that this “death sentence might be attractive” to the voters.

It is a sad story when the death of any person is used as a way of getting votes. Shame on the candidates and political advisers who preach just that, and shame on the people who buy into it.
