A New Mexico teen-ager was ordered held Monday to answer charges of stalking and killing a woman at a Zuma Beach restroom in order to steal her car.

During a Municipal Court hearing, Michael Loretto, 18, was ordered held for a Superior Court trial on charges of murder and second-degree robbery, said Sandi Gibbons, spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office.

Loretto’s co-defendant, Guillermo Bustos, 17, was ordered held for trial during a court hearing last month.

The Pojoaque, N.M., teen-agers are accused of stabbing to death Jacqueline Kirkham, 43, of Northridge on May 28 in a Zuma Beach restroom in Malibu. Authorities contend that the pair watched the woman for three hours, followed her to the restroom in order to steal her car keys, and then stabbed her when she resisted.
