VENTURA : 2 Men Arrested in Counterfeiting Case
Two men have been arrested in what could be a nationwide computer theft and counterfeiting ring, a Ventura Police spokesman said Tuesday.
Kevin Charles Lowe, 27, of Santa Monica and David Agbolade, 25, are being held on bail of $1 million each in Santa Barbara County Jail. They were initially arrested on suspicion of grand theft in Santa Barbara last week, Detective Jim Burt said.
The men are suspected of ordering computers to be delivered to rented private mailboxes and paying for them with fake Bank of America cashier’s checks.
On Monday, Ventura police served arrest warrants on the pair in jail in connection with a similar crime committed in Ventura last month, Burt said.
