School District Should Cut Fat

Share

When is the Oxnard Union High School Board of Trustees going to get in touch with reality? The district office is overstaffed and we as taxpayers are footing the bill. Shouldn’t the district office make some cuts like the private sector, the county of Ventura, and cities?

A district office only needs a superintendent, personnel manager and a business manager. What do the other high-salaried administrators really do besides try to justify their existence? What do they provide that can help students and/or teachers?

Their excuse for having such large staffs is that 20 other similar districts in California with the same or similar economic base have the same amount of overpaid administrators performing similar tasks. All this shows is that other district offices are wasting taxpayer money that should be saved or spent elsewhere.

We don’t need excuses. We need to cut the fat at the top. Consolidate, trim and save and perform efficiently at a reasonable price. We should not continue to overspend in tight times.
