Honors, Honors: Japanese film director Akira Kurosawa will receive the Directors Guild of America’s D. W. Griffith Award, the guild’s highest honor for lifetime achievement. His son will pick up the honor March 14 because the 81-year-old Kurosawa will be working on his 30th film in Tokyo. . . . Sheldon Leonard will get the Board of Governors Award from the American Society of Cinematographers on Feb. 23 for his “pioneering work as an innovative TV program producer.” Leonard directed and/or produced “The Danny Thomas Show,” “The Andy Griffith Show” and “I Spy,” among other TV hits.
