RUNNING FOR HELP: Most runaways aren’t reported, but arrest statistics indicate that in Orange County more girls leave home than boys. Agnes Trinchero, director of the Crittenton Home for Girls in Fullerton, isn’t surprised. . . . “These runaways generally are coming from abusive homes,” she says. “Boys often have other outlets or are trained to fight back. Girls often think the only solution is to just get away from it.”
