WORLD IN BRIEF : SOUTH KOREA : North Rejects Early Nuclear Inspections

North Korea rejected South Korea’s call for early inspections of nuclear facilities where it is suspected of developing nuclear arms, South Korean officials said. The United States and other Western countries have expressed concern that North Korea is close to being able to produce crude nuclear weapons. The rejection arose during a closed meeting of the two sides at the border village of Panmunjom.
