Stricklin Earns 500th Victory for Golden West

Coach Dick Stricklin got his 500th victory at Golden West and Jenny Sullivan became the school’s all-time leading rebounder as the Rustlers defeated Fullerton, 74-54, Friday in an Orange Empire Conference women’s basketball game.

Stricklin had a record of 151-192 in 12 years with the men’s team and is 349-85 in his 15th season with the women’s team. Golden West is the two-time defending State champion.

Sullivan, a 6-foot-2 center from Ocean View High School, had 19 rebounds in the game to increase her career total to 766. She passed Janet Ramaekers (1982-84), who had 761.
