The California Arts Project has awarded Cal State Northridge a $100,000 grant, university officials announced. The grant will be used to teach nearly 100 public school teachers new ways to teach music, theater, dance and art in their classrooms during a two-week summer program at CSUN. Theater professor Catherine Dezseran will prepare materials for the program to be offered in July by the university’s schools of arts and education. CSUN was one of five schools selected for funding by the state Arts Project. The project is part of a state effort to enhance instruction and strengthen teacher training.
