I have been to Silky Oaks (“From the Reef to the Rain Forest of Queensland,” Jan. 19). My travel agent told us the same things that Robert Ragaini wrote about in his article. We never had a chance to talk to the Hunts during our four-day visit because they were too busy entertaining travel agents. One evening when we went to dinner we were told that we couldn’t eat until after a special show that was being staged for a group of travel agents. While we waited they led us to a corner so far away we could not enjoy the show. We couldn’t even have cocktails while we waited.

The show was being put on for the travel agents who were seated front and center. They were getting the royal treatment while the paying guests were being ignored.

I wish travel agents and writers such as Ragaini would look around and see how the paying guests are being treated compared with how they are being treated.

We didn’t get dinner until 10 that night and it was cold and the service was terrible. They saved all the “good stuff” for people who will give them more business.

We went to Silky Oaks once. We will never go again or recommend it.
