The Fab Four: The Sean Connery rain forest romance, “Medicine Man,” opened in first place at the national box-office during the weekend, putting the Walt Disney Studios in the most unusual position of having four of the Top 10 films. According to estimates from industry sources, “Medicine Man,” from Disney’s Hollywood Pictures division, sold about $8 million in tickets during the weekend. It was followed in second place by the same division’s “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle,” which had been in first for four weeks. The Steve Martin comedy “Father of the Bride,” from Disney’s Touchstone Pictures, ranked about fifth, and Walt Disney Picture’s “Beauty and the Beast” was No. 10.
