COSTA MESA : County Fair Parade Canceled Over Cost
- Share via
A parade to usher in the Orange County Fair centennial celebration this summer has been canceled because it would be too expensive to block off city streets and redirect traffic.
Norbert Bartosik, the fair’s general manager, withdrew the proposal for the parade after he received a city estimate that the services of traffic officers would cost $13,000, far more than the original estimate of $2,500.
Contributing to his decision, Bartosik said, was the possibility that some neighbors might oppose the parade.
