IBM Cuts Laptop Price 32%: It is the fourth cut in the price of the laptop computer since the machine’s introduction less than a year ago. The cut, from $3,645 to $2,495, means that the laptop costs less than half what it did at its introduction last March. Increased competition and the recession have prompted many computer makers to make ongoing price cuts. IBM said the computer’s sales have been meeting expectations.
