CBS to Buy 50% of MTM Studios: CBS Inc. said it has exercised an option to buy the 50% interest it did not own in MTM Studios from TVS Entertainment PLC. The option effectively cancels a previous deal Walt Disney Co. made to acquire the stake earlier this year. The option clause gave CBS the right to match Disney’s $27-million offer. MTM Studios houses such independent production companies as Carsey-Warner Co., producers of “The Cosby Show” and “Roseanne.”
