High Life / A WEEKLY FORUM FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS : Winners Chosen in Photo Show

Mark Molsberry of El Modena High School in Orange won Best of Show at the recent Orange County Invitational Photography Contest, sponsored by Costa Mesa High.

Molsberry also took a first-place award in the Social Issues category. Danielle Hurtado of Ocean View placed second and Darcey Niskala of Garden Grove placed third.

Ryan Anderson of El Modena was awarded first place in the Still Life category, first and third places in Environmental and second in Portrait.

Portrait category--1. Janna Wrigley (El Modena) and 3. Kristopher Freedain (El Modena).

School Life--1. Roy Aguirre (Garden Grove), 2. Richard Salcido (Costa Mesa) and 3. Chris Tran (Garden Grove).

Still Life--2. Courtney Hylton (Costa Mesa) and 3. Jon Carlew (Costa Mesa).

Environmental--2. Kim Corbett (Costa Mesa).

Honorable mention awards went to Mike Bursic (Garden Grove) and Carlew.

The pictures, judged by fine art photographer Larry Vogel, will be exhibited in the Graduate Student Gallery at Cal State Fullerton through Feb. 26.

They will be displayed in the administration building foyer of Costa Mesa High from March 2 through 6, then moved to Golden West College’s Fine Arts building (upstairs between rooms 213 and 220) from March 9 through 13.
