FULLERTON : Applicants Sought for Park Program
- Share via
The Community Services Department is looking for nonprofit community groups to participate in its “Adopt-A-Park” program to keep the city’s parkland clean.
All eligible applicants for the duties will be entered into a drawing conducted by the Adopt-A-Park committee. For their efforts, the groups may each earn $500 for their work.
During a 15-week period, the groups selected are responsible for visiting a park at least once a week to pick up litter such as paper, cans and unbroken glass. More extensive problems are handled by city maintenance crews. The groups are also expected to report dangerous objects or broken equipment that they spot during their visits.
Applicants must be nonprofit, Fullerton-based organizations. At least half of a group’s members must be Fullerton residents.
Groups must also provide a list of activities in which they have participated or sponsored.
Applications are available at City Hall, 303 W. Commonwealth Ave. For information, call (714) 738-6575.
