Profits, Revenue Drop at Dick Clark Productions

Share

Dick Clark Productions Inc. said its fiscal second-quarter profit slipped 2% from a year earlier on a 14% decline in revenue.

The Burbank-based producer of television shows said its net income in the quarter ended Dec. 31 fell to $405,000 from $412,000 a year earlier, while its revenue dropped to $6.82 million from $7.97 million.

The declines reflected the delivery of fewer special programs than a year ago, the company said. But it noted that the current third quarter is traditionally the busiest TV period for Dick Clark Productions, and that the company in January produced such specials as “The 49th Annual Golden Globe Awards.”

For the first half of its fiscal year, the company broke even compared with a year-earlier profit of $545,000, and its six-month revenue fell 17%, to $11.8 million from $14.3 million.
