BEATING NOTHING: Lest you think that former Irvine Mayor Larry Agran’s vote total Tuesday in the New Hampshire Democratic primary--rounded off at zero percent--represents utter failure, consider this: He beat out 28 other candidates on the ballot. . . . Agran’s 298 votes edged out Lenora B. Fulani’s 283 for 10th spot, and he finished well ahead of long-shot candidates such as Curly Thornton and Rufus T. Higginbotham. Nathan J. Averick came in last: three votes.
