Courtie Miller, a starting forward for San Diego State, underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and will probably miss the rest of the season, trainer Mark Haines said.

Miller, who has been suffering pain in the knee since December, was operated on by SDSU doctor Peter Wile, who found an enlarged hypertropic fat pad.

“That just means that in one area of his knee, the fat pad was enlarged and caused pain,” Haines said. “It got caught in-between the joint every time he moved his knee.”

Haines said there will be a three to six week recovery time and that, while Miller is out for the season, he could come back if the Aztecs reach the Western Athletic Conference tournament.

Miller was averaging 11 points and four rebounds per game.
