Track Meet Fiasco Called Inexcusable
It is unconscionable that the organizers of the L.A. Sunkist track meet could renege on their promise of a Tartan runway to Sergei Bubka. It is downright negligent that they held the pole vault with the substandard high school pits.
Such incompetent promotion and organization causes many world-class athletes to avoid competing in the U.S. altogether. As a result of the Sunkist fiasco, fans may never see Bubka vault in the U.S. again.
