The Herschel Rule? James Wright, acting president of the U.S. bobsled federation, said there is a chance the board of directors will adopt a rule requiring pro football players to join the World Cup circuit as soon as the NFL season is over.

“If someone wants to bobsled when the football season is over, it seems to me the football player should commit to the rest of the (bobsled) season,” Wright said.

Walker, a Minnesota Viking running back, did not earn a place on the U.S. bobsled team until four weeks ago after court-ordered push-offs in Germany.

Albert Grimaldi, better known as Prince Albert of Monaco, drove his country’s bobsled to a 28th-place standing among 31 sleds, 4.23 seconds behind leader Germany.

Prince Albert’s bobsled finished ahead of Mexico’s and two sleds from the Virgin Islands but behind Jamaica’s and Chinese Taipei’s.
