Seven-Up Sues Coke: Seven-Up Co. slapped Coca-Cola Co. with a $500-million lawsuit, charging its giant rival with misleading firms that bottle and sell both sodas. The suit accuses Coca-Cola of interference with Seven-Up’s contracts, unfair competition and publication of false statements about Seven-Up. The company, a unit of Dallas-based Dr. Pepper/Seven-Up Cos., filed the suit in a Dallas state court. John Nabors, a Dallas attorney representing the company, said Coca-Cola is campaigning to take away bottlers that are licensed to both companies and take over the market for lemon-lime drinks such as Seven-Up. Randy Donaldson, spokesman for Atlanta-based Coca-Cola, said the company had not seen the suit and could not respond to its allegations.
