HORSE TOURNAMENT: Clad in Renaissance-period clothing, 30 celebrities will prove their equestrian prowess by competing in the Burbank Celebrity Tournament of Horses at 480 Riverside Drive, Burbank. In addition to the riding events today, there will be armored jousting demonstrations, strolling performers, and craft and food booths. From 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. Tickets are $6.50 for adults, free for children under 12.

HOME ZONE: The Pico Rivera City Council will consider a proposed zoning change that would eventually force manufacturing and industrial businesses off a strip of land along Kruse Road, across from a residential neighborhood. The council meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 6615 Passons Blvd.

AUTOMOTIVE EDEN: Editor and author Larry Diez will speak on “Paradise as a Parking Lot: The Automobile Transforms California” at Claremont McKenna College’s Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum at 7 p.m. Monday.
