WOMEN’S BASKETBALL : Story Finishes Victory for USC

Tammy Story scored 25 points, including four free throws in the final 2:01, and USC held on for a 67-63 Pacific 10 Conference victory over Washington State Saturday night at Pullman, Wash.
Lisa Leslie added 23 points, five rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocked shots for USC (17-7 overall, 10-4 in the Pac-10).
Darci Wellstadt had 16 points for the Cougars (11-13, 4-11).
UCLA 65, Washington 62--Nicole Anderson sank two free throws with five seconds left to wrap up the Bruins’ come-from-behind victory over the Huskies in a Pac-10 game at Seattle.
The Bruins (16-8, 9-5) trailed, 41-33, with 15:05 left, but Natalie Williams scored the first six of her 19 points to get UCLA close. Lynn Kamrath’s basket put UCLA ahead to stay, 60-58, with 3:11 left.
Rhonda Smith had 18 points for Washington (15-10, 7-8).
CS Long Beach 80, UNLV 77--Trise Jackson and Danielle Scott each scored 18 points as the 49ers beat the Rebels in a Big West Conference game at Las Vegas.
